Over the course of my academic career, I have balanced research in synthetic chemistry and into tertiary science education. I have also taught chemistry across all undergrad levels and honours, and I have taught theology at a Masters's level. I hold a PhD in medicinal chemistry from UCT where I graduated in 2002. Over the last four or five years, the balance of my research has tipped towards education. I have just completed a PhD in education from Stellenbosch 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 entitled ‘Towards knower awareness in chemistry and chemistry education. My deep passion is to facilitate holistic education in the context of tertiary science degrees. To this end, I think we need to pay attention to the person of the student and be clear about knowledge building.
