On 23 July 2020, during the Higher Education Studies ‘Doc Week’, Professor Sioux McKenna (CPGS) and Dr Kirstin Wilmot (老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网), along with co-editor, Professor Christine Winberg (Cape Peninsula 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of Technology), launched their new book, Building knowledge in higher education: Enhancing Teaching and Learning with Legitimation Code Theory. This is the second book in the Legitimation Code Theory: Knowledge-Building in Research and Practice series published by Routledge. The book boasts a collection of 16 papers that enact Legitimation Code Theory to address various challenges in teaching and learning across international higher education contexts. The edited collection includes individual chapters by 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 and CPGS colleagues, including Sioux McKenna, Kirstin Wilmot, Jo-Anne Vorster, Lynn Quinn and Sherran Clarence.

The virtual launch included guest speakers, Professor Steve Kirk (Durham 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网) and Professor Karl Maton (老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of Sydney), and was attended by 125 scholars from approximately seven countries around the world. Using Zoom ‘break out rooms’, attendees were also able to talk to individual authors about their chapters in more detail.
